ODU Honors College Living Learning Community

I was admitted into ODU's Honors College which gave me the opportunity to live in the Honors College Residence Hall my Freshman year. It was a great experience as a first-time freshman and a scholar. The residence hall was set up apartment suit style besides two rooms on each hall where two or more students shared a bedroom, bathroom and common space. The hall was all Honors College students of all different academic years. They also held some of the honors courses in the first floor common area.

The Honors College was a great community to be apart of. It was nice to live with my peers that were in my Honors courses and made it easier for us to study together. Another reason Virginia House was great was because all of the students in the hall were scholars, it was nice and quiet at all times so it made getting work completed easy.
The Honors College gave each scholar a $500 stipend per academic year to help cover textbook costs. They offered early registration for classes. They also had many opportunities for undergraduate research projects or internships. The Honors College gave me so many opportunities I never thought I would have and I thank them for working with me .
